Virtual simulation or mechanical analysis allows us to test the strength of products during the early stages of design to avoid any possible failures after manufacturing.
In the case of new products our engineers use mechanical analysis to determine the strength of the product and the different elements the model comprises, determining yield strength, break point, deformation, buckling, fatigue or other aspects.
The type of structural analysis carried out depends on the model (linear and non-linear tests), on the types of load (static or dynamic) and on the failure criteria decided.
In the case of existing products Metrica checks that the products’ structural elements are able to withstand the functional loads they are subjected to. For this purpose we carry out various static and dynamic case studies in accordance with current standards and regulations. These advanced calculation tools enable structures to be adapted to meet new criteria and ensure a safe approach to carrying out renovations or refurbishments.
Metrica also offers an engineering service of structural calculations for railway vehicle bodies using the finite element method which guarantees compliance with safety standards such as the UNE-EN 12663-1 standard.
